Emma Longley

FCE is delighted to be able to offer Lion Training Passport courses.

Lion hen training now compulsory,

was the headline of a recent article in Poultry World about the new Lion Passport Training scheme.  The new Lion Training Passport scheme has been introduced by The British Egg Industry Council as a compulsory requirement for all members.  Its aim is to ensure all stockpeople working in the UK egg industry  are  trained to the same consistent high standard.

What are we offering?

In recent months FCE has been working to develop a number of Lion Training Passport accredited courses and we are now in the position of being to offer 4 out the 5 courses:

  • Biosecurity, security & egg handling
  • Health & Safety (including manual handling)
  • Poultry health & welfare
    • operative level
    • management level

We hope to have the food safety course available shortly.

Our trainers

We have 2 excellent trainers running the courses.

Robert Ovens who has over 20 years experience in health & safety, 16 of which have been spent in the poultry industry, and Robert Hay a well known figure in the laying sector with over 35 years in the poultry industry.

These short course are between half a day and a day in length and with the exception of health & safety can be run online if needed.
